CalSTRS is searching for one or two general investment consultants, according to an RFP notice on the $170 billion pension fund's website.
California State Teachers' Retirement System, West Sacramento, is seeking either one firm to function as policy and portfolio investment consultant and one to function as performance and asset allocation investment consultant, or one firm to provide all services.
Pension Consulting Alliance is the current general investment consultant. It could not be learned by press time whether the firm is invited to rebid.
Proposals are due at 2 p.m. PDT on Oct. 10. Finalist interviews are scheduled for Dec. 2, with a timeline for a decision yet to be determined. A three-year contract would begin in early January with an option for two one-year renewals, according to the RFP.
