Ralph Marsh was elected to a one-year term as president of the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators.
Mr. Marsh is chairman of the Houston City Deferred Compensation Plan board. The Houston 457(b) plan has more than $700 million in assets and serves more than 17,000 participants.
Mr. Marsh, who had been NAGDCA's vice president, was elected by members Tuesday at the association's annual conference in Louisville, Ky. He succeeds as president Tom Mueller, chief accountant of the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, Whittier, Calif., and committee chairman of the Sanitation Districts' $203 million Deferred Compensation Plan.
Mr. Marsh is the first person, since NAGDCA was founded in 1980, to hold the office of president twice. He was elected previously in 2007.
“I love the organization,” Mr. Marsh said in an interview. “I feel strongly about the mission to provide the best plans possible for participants.”
