Divyesh Hindocha was named global head of product and defined contribution at Schroders PLC, according to company spokeswoman Beth Saint.
Effective Nov. 1, Mr. Hindocha's responsibilities will include product development and coordinating Schroders' global defined contribution efforts. He also will join the firm's global distribution executive committee and take on responsibility for chairing the product strategy committee. He will replace Gavin Ralston, who was promoted to head of official institutions.
Mr. Hindocha will report to Massimo Tosato, executive vice chairman and global head of distribution at Schroders.
“I'll be sitting between distribution and investment and thinking about what new products we should be offering our client base,” Mr. Hindocha said in an interview.
Mr. Hindocha is a senior partner and global director of consulting at Mercer's investments business, where he is responsible for Mercer's global strategic research capabilities. He will be replaced by Deb Clarke, a partner at Mercer who has been appointed global head of investment research, when he leaves Mercer at the end of October, according to Charles Salmans, a spokesman for Mercer. Ms. Clarke previously was global leader of Mercer's equity boutique, a unit within Mercer's investment consulting business. Mercer has not yet announced a successor to Ms. Clarke for her former position.
“I've been at Mercer for close to 24 years, so it was time to reboot and test myself in a different environment,” Mr. Hindocha said. “Mercer is in very good shape.”
