Colorado Fire & Police Pension Association, Greenwood Village, hired Russell Investments to manage a cash overlay strategy, confirmed Scott Simon, chief investment officer.
The strategy will have a notional value of about $150 million. The $3.7 billion pension fund had previously used State Street on an ad hoc basis, but Russell is the first manager to run a full-time overlay strategy, Mr. Simon said in a telephone interview.
