Matt Montana joined Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management as a managing director and head of equity trading, Americas, according to DeAWM spokeswoman Pholida Barclay.
The position is new. Mr. Montana is responsible for managing all of DeAWM's equity trading business in the Americas. He will be based in New York and report to Joshua Friedberg, managing director and head of trading, Americas.
Prior to joining DeAWM, Mr. Montana was a managing director in charge of non-dollar sales and trading at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Montana's appointment is part of DeAWM's initiative to enhance its equities investment capabilities. Last month, portfolio manager Richard Glass joined the firm as managing director and U.S. head of small- and midcap value equities, along with two other investment professionals, Richard Hanlon and Mary Schafer. Messrs. Glass and Hanlon and Ms. Schafer are based in New York. Additionally, Sean Taylor joined as managing director and head of emerging market equities, based in London.
