State of Wisconsin Investment Board, Madison, hired three hedge fund managers, investing a combined $275 million in their funds, according to Vicki Hearing, public information officer.
SWIB, which oversees $97 billon, invested $100 million each in Senator Global Opportunity Fund, an event-driven strategy managed by Senator Investment Group, and American Steadfast, a long/short strategy managed by Steadfast Capital Management.
It also invested $75 million in Kyn Wilson Fund, a long/short strategy managed by Kynikos Associates.
Funding for the hedge fund investments came from cash.
Cliffwater, the board's hedge fund consultant, assisted in the search.
