Mark Chan joined Threadneedle Investments in Hong Kong as director, institutional-North Asia.
It is a new position.
Mr. Chan will focus on developing new business opportunities with institutional clients in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea, according to a news release.
Mr. Chan will report to June Wong, Threadneedle's Hong Kong-based vice chairman of Asia-Pacific and CEO Hong Kong.
Mr. Chan comes to Threadneedle from J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Asia, where he served as vice president, Greater China sales for the firm's global liquidity business. J.P. Morgan spokesman Daniel Chui declined to comment.
