CalPERS committed $547 million to private equity fund Carlyle Partners VI, according to a recently released investment report.
The $264.6 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento, has invested in 25 other Carlyle Group funds.
The pension fund made the commitment to Carlyle's sixth fund in June, the same month CalPERS sold its 4% stake in the alternative investment firm. Last year, CalPERS sold 20% of its $1 billion limited partnership interest in Carlyle Partners V in a sale on the private equity secondary market.
