Kansas City (Mo.) Police Employees’ Retirement Systems hired R.V. Kuhns & Associates as investment consultant, confirmed James Pyle, pension systems manager.
The pension funds, with combined assets of $826 million, issued an RFP in May. The current consultant, DeMarche Associates, rebid.
DeMarche has been the pension funds’ investment consultant for 36 years, said Mr. Pyle in a telephone interview, “and they did a terrific job and contributed to the affordability and sustainability of our retirement system.”
R.V. Kuhns’ five-year contract begins Sept. 1. The other finalist was Marquette Associates.
The two pension funds are the Police Retirement System of Kansas City and the Civilian Employees’ Retirement System of the Police Department of Kansas City.
