James Clarke was named managing director, business development, at alternative credit specialist GoldenTree Asset Management, confirmed GoldenTree spokesman Scott Sunshine.
The position is new.
Mr. Clarke will be responsible for overseeing large institutional investors and consultant relations for the company. He will report to Thomas Humphrey, partner and head of business development.
Prior to joining GoldenTree, Mr. Clarke was senior vice president, investor relations, at hedge fund manager Paulson & Co., where he covered large institutional investors in the U.S., Canada and Australia. According to Armel Leslie, a spokesman for Paulson, Mr. Clarke's responsibilities will be absorbed by the firm's U.S. institutions team.
