Tom Levy joined Third Avenue Management as senior managing director, head of business development and counterparty relationship management, according to spokeswoman Bridget Wysong.
It is a new position.
Mr. Levy will be responsible for business development of the firm's traditional and alternative strategies. He will report to David Barse, Third Avenue CEO.
Prior to joining Third Avenue, Mr. Levy was head of pension, endowment and foundation coverage at Morgan Stanley. Spokesman Matt Burkhard could not provide additional information.
