Michael Castine was named partner at executive search firm Ridgeway Partners, effective Sept. 2.
The position is new; Mr. Castine will be one of four U.S. partners, he said.
Mr. Castine will work in asset and wealth management as well as with private equity firms that have a financial focus, said Andy Hunter, partner and co-founder at Ridgeway Partners. Messrs. Hunter and Castine will “work together with various clients. It’s a big field; that’s not going to be a problem at all,” said Mr. Hunter.
Mr. Castine is chairman, asset and wealth management, at Korn/Ferry International. His last day there is Friday, Mr. Castine said in an interview.
Mr. Castine said his departure is “very amicable.”
Korn/Ferry is moving to expand its business outside of executive searches to more leadership and talent counseling, Mr. Castine said. “I agree with the direction Korn/Ferry is taking. … I just like having the flexibility that a smaller firm has.”
As part of the move, Mr. Castine has a two-year non-solicitation agreement with Korn/Ferry.
Robert Damon, president, North America, at Korn/Ferry, could not be reached for comment.
