Jeff Hussey was named global chief investment officer at Russell Investments, confirmed spokeswoman Kate Stouffer.
Mr. Hussey will replace Pete Gunning, who is taking over as CEO of the Asia-Pacific region for Russell. Mr. Gunning, who's been global CIO since 2008, will succeed Alan Schoenheimer as head of the Asia-Pacific region. The Australian native will be based in Sydney and responsible for Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. Mr. Schoenheimer will transition to a non-executive advisory role, Ms. Stouffer said. Messrs. Hussey and Gunning will both report to CEO Len Brennan.
Mr. Hussey will direct Russell's investment management, implementation and research activities globally. He was previously CIO, global fixed income. Gerard Fitzpatrick, senior fixed-income portfolio manager, will succeed and report to Mr. Hussey. A replacement for Mr. Fitzpatrick has not been determined yet, Ms. Stouffer said.
All of the moves take effect on Oct. 1.
Russell Investments had $237 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
