St. Louis Employees' Retirement System might begin a search at the end of August for an active domestic small-cap growth equity manager to run $20 million to $25 million, said Richard Olliges, accounting officer for the $700 million city pension fund.
The current manager, Columbia Partners LLC Investment Management, is on watch for performance but would be invited to rebid, he said. Steven J. Binder, managing principal and director of client relations at Columbia Partners, did not return a phone call seeking comment by press time.
A vote to approve the issuing of a request for proposals will take place at the pension fund's Aug. 26 board of trustees meeting, said Mr. Olliges in a telephone interview.
