New York State Teachers Retirement System, Albany, issued an RFP for a firm to provide non-discretionary private equity consulting and advisory services, confirmed John Cardillo, a spokesman for the $95.1 billion pension system.
According to the RFP, the firm's duties will include providing research and recommendations on private equity funds in the fundraising stage, performing due diligence on private equity funds identified by the pension system and completing an annual portfolio performance analysis.
Mr. Cardillo wrote in an e-mail that StepStone Group has been the private equity consultant since Feb. 1, 2008. Its contract ends Jan. 31, and it is welcome to rebid, he wrote.
According to the RFP, candidates must submit proposals by 2 p.m. EDT Aug. 29. Interviews will be conducted between mid-November and late January. A contract will be awarded Jan. 27, and the contract is scheduled to begin March 1.
