Greg Saichin was named head of global emerging markets debt at Allianz Global Investors.
The position is new, said John Wallace, spokesman at Allianz Global Investors. Mr. Saichin will join AGI in September to lead a new global emerging markets debt unit. “We'll be building up the team in the coming weeks and months,” said Mr. Wallace. He would not elaborate.
Mr. Saichin was senior vice president and head of emerging markets and high-yield fixed income at Pioneer Investments. He was replaced by Yerlan Syzdykov, who was senior portfolio manager, emerging markets and high-yield fixed income, according to Cherida Naughton, Pioneer spokeswoman. Mr. Syzdykov remains lead manager of Pioneer's emerging markets debt strategies.
Allianz Global had e316 billion ($417 billion) in assets under management as of March 31, of which 41% was in fixed income.
