Los Angeles Fire & Police Pension System rehired Brandes Investment Partners, which manages $840 million in an active international equity portfolio, said Tom Lopez, chief investment officer for the $15.9 billion pension fund, in an e-mail.
Brandes' new three-year contract expires July 31, 2016. General investment consultant R.V. Kuhns & Associates assisted.
Separately, the pension fund renewed its contract with its custodial bank, Northern Trust, for an additional three years. The bank's current contract is set to expire on Sept. 30. No RFP or RFI was issued. Instead, staff launched a shared search leveraging the recent custodial bank searches conducted by other public pension funds.
