Haverhill (Mass.) Retirement System is searching for a private real estate manager to run $5 million, confirmed Gus Aristizabal, director of research at Wainwright Investment Counsel, the pension fund’s investment consultant.
The $155 million pension fund is looking for firms that have at least one prior private real estate fund, focus exclusively on the U.S. and are more than 50% owned by key investment professionals, according to the RFP. The fund also must be closing no later than December.
The pension fund has a 6.3% actual allocation to real estate and 8.5% target allocation.
The RFP is available on Wainwright’s website. Proposals are due at 2 p.m. EDT Aug. 5. A hiring decision is expected by the end of the year.
