Oregon Investment Council has launched an RFP for one or more general investment consultants.
The Tigard-based council, which runs the $63 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, Salem, initially issued an RFP in the fall of 2011, but shortly after responses were submitted, former Chief Investment Officer Ron Schmitz departed, said Michael Mueller, deputy CIO in an e-mail. The council decided to postpone the search until after a permanent CIO was named and after it completed its asset-liability study.
Current consultants Strategic Investment Solutions and Pension Consulting Alliance are expected to rebid, Mr. Mueller wrote.
The RFP is available on the state's website. Responses to the RFP are due Aug. 20, with staff recommendations to the council and a selection expected on Dec. 10.
