One-year returns of 7.2% for the Cambridge Associates U.S. Venture Capital index were dwarfed by the Dow Jones U.S. Small Cap index (19.5%) and Russell 2000 index (16.4%). Three- and five-year annualized returns are much closer, while 10-year returns for the venture capital index were 411 and 285 basis points lower than the Dow Jones and Russell indexes, respectively.
