Berrien County Employees' Amended Retirement Plan, St. Joseph. Mich., hired Marco Consulting Group to assist in seeking a manager of managers to run the pension fund's $130 million in assets.
An RFP for a manager of managers will be issued later this summer, said Julian Regan, vice president and senior consultant at Marco. He would not comment on why the pension fund chose to go to a manager-of-managers strategy, nor would he comment on the fund's existing managers.
According to the pension fund's website, current equity managers are World Asset Management, William Blair, Becker Capital, TT International and GMO. Loomis Sayles and Segall Bryant & Hamill are the fund's fixed-income managers.
Marco Consulting is not providing general investment consulting services to the fund, said Mr. Regan. He would not identify the plan's investment consultant.
Officials at the pension fund referred all questions to Mr. Regan.
