Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. closed its Asian II Fund at $6 billion, spokeswoman Kristi Huller confirmed in an e-mail.
The fund reached its hard cap of $6 billion, she said. KKR says it's the largest-ever pan-Asian private equity fund.
“The successful close of our second Asian fund is a testament to our strong track record in the region,” said Joseph Bae, member and managing partner of KKR Asia, in a written statement.
Investors in the fund include Oregon Investment Council, Tigard, which runs the $63.2 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, Salem, and the $66.8 billion Washington State Investment Board, Olympia.
