Alaska Retirement Management Board, Juneau, hired Gabriel Roeder Smith to provide an actuarial review of the pension fund's actuary, Buck Consultants, according to a news release posted on the $22 billion pension fund's website.
Gabriel Roeder Smith will conduct a review of methods, factors and assumptions used in the actuarial valuations. An RFP was issued in April.
Alaska spokeswoman Lacy Wilcox did not immediately return a telephone call.
