John Misselbrook was appointed interim CEO at Aviva Investors, according to spokeswoman Wendy Svirakova.
Currently non-executive director, Mr. Misselbrook will replace Paul Abberley on July 1. Mr. Abberley will remain at Aviva as head of investments, a new position that incorporates his previous responsibilities before he was appointed interim CEO in May 2012.
Mr. Misselbrook was chief operating officer of Baring Asset Management from 2001 to 2011. He was appointed non-executive director at Aviva Investors in January and will return to that position once a permanent CEO is appointed. Aviva Investors had about £274 billion ($417 billion) in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
