Peter Fisher, the former head of fixed income at BlackRock Inc. who in February joined the company group that provides market research and analysis, will take a teaching role at Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business.
Mr. Fisher will start as senior fellow at the Center for Global Business and Government on July 1, Hanover, N.H.-based Dartmouth announced June 19 in a statement. Lauren Post, a spokeswoman for New York-based BlackRock, said in an interview that Mr. Fisher will continue as a senior director at the BlackRock Investment Institute.
“Peter's presence will give Tuck students access to someone with experience at the highest levels of both private asset management and government economic policy,” Matthew J. Slaughter, faculty director of the center and the associate dean of faculty at Tuck, said in the statement.
Mr. Fisher is a former Treasury undersecretary for domestic finance. He joined BlackRock in 2004 and was later named head of the money manager's fixed-income unit. He moved to the investment institute after leading a reorganization at BlackRock's $1.3 trillion bond division.
