Langston C. Emerson joined the Private Equity Growth Capital Council, an advocacy group, as vice president of government affairs, according to spokesman Noah Theran.
It is a new position, in which he will be educating policymakers about the private equity business. He will report to PEGCC President and CEO Steve Judge.
Mr. Emerson was senior director of federal government relations at TIAA-CREF. Information on his replacement could not be learned.
Mr. Emerson's Capitol Hill experience includes stints as a senior aide to Rep. Michael Capuano, D-Mass., on financial services policy, and to former Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick, D-Mich., for banking, tax and economic issues, according to a PEGCC statement.
