N. Anthony Calhoun was named executive director of the $2.3 billion Baltimore City Fire & Police Employees’ Retirement System, confirmed spokeswoman Amy Baskerville.
Mr. Calhoun, who will join the pension fund on July 8, will replace Thomas Taneyhill, who will retire June 30.
Ms. Baskerville wrote in an e-mail that Mr. Calhoun has been an independent consultant for the last several years. He was previously Pennsylvania executive deputy state treasurer. Gary Tuma, spokesman for Pennsylvania Treasurer Rob McCord, said Mr. Calhoun left the treasurer’s office in March 2009.
