Bobby Franklin was named president and CEO of the National Venture Capital Association, confirmed spokeswoman Emily Mendell.
He will join the association on Sept. 3, replacing Mark Heesen, who has been president and CEO since 1999. Mr. Heesen, who is retiring, will take on the title of president emeritus and will remain as an adviser to assist with the transition.
Mr. Franklin is an executive vice president with CTIA – The Wireless Association, a professional organization representing the wireless communications industry.
