Franklin Templeton Investments on Monday completed the purchase of the 80% interest it did not already own in alternative investment manager, Pelagos Capital Management, confirmed William Weeks, Franklin Templeton spokesman.
Franklin Templeton acquired a 20% interest in Pelagos in 2010. Pelagos' investment strategies include commodities, managed futures and hedge fund replication.
Pelagos' commodities and managed futures strategies are underlying investments in the Franklin Templeton Multi-Asset Real Return Fund, Franklin Templeton Allocator Fund Series and Franklin LifeSmart Retirement Target Funds.
