Charles Salvador joined Shanghai-based consulting firm Z-Ben Advisors as director, investor solutions.
It is a new position. Mr. Salvador advises foreign institutional investors looking to invest in China through the country's Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor program.
Z-Ben's new investor solutions division was set up in response to feedback from clients looking for a higher level of advice and service in selecting and monitoring money managers, brokers and custodians for QFII-related allocations, Peter Alexander, Z-Ben's managing director, said in an e-mailed announcement Wednesday.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Salvador said his team will provide a “front-to-back” platform for foreign institutions from the moment they begin thinking about investing in China, through the process of applying for needed quotas and investing their money, while keeping them apprised of changes in the regulatory landscape and industry trends.
Mr. Salvador was vice president of global institutional equity sales at Bank of China International. A Bank of China International spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
