Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association, Concord, Calif., committed a total of $185 million to four private real assets and real estate managers, confirmed Marilyn Leedom, CEO.
The $5.6 billion pension fund committed $75 million to Aether Investment Partners' ARA III and $50 million to CommonFund Capital Natural Resources Partners IX.
The pension plan issued an RFP in January for its first private real assets managers. BlackRock was also a finalist. Investment consultant Milliman assisted.
Separately, CCCERA committed $35 million to Invesco Real Estate Fund III and $25 million to Long Wharf Real Estate Fund IV, both value-added real estate funds.
All of the commitments are pending legal review and due diligence, Ms. Leedom said.
