Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, Columbus, hired Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss, Sasco Capital and Systematic Financial Management to run $450 million to $500 million total in active domestic midcap value equity strategies for its $25 billion state insurance fund, confirmed spokeswoman Melissa Vince.
The hires are the result of a new target allocation to active domestic midcap equities approved by the board in January 2012. The target of 5.5% is split into 2% each to value and growth, and 1.5% to core.
