Rory Bateman was named head of U.K. and European equities at Schroders, confirmed spokeswoman Beth Saint.
It is a new position. Mr. Bateman was previously head of European equities. He will now also take on some responsibilities of Richard Buxton, head of U.K. equities, who is leaving the firm to join Old Mutual Global Investors in the same position next month.
Mr. Bateman reports to Peter Harrison, global head of equities.
Also, as a part of the new role, Schroders will combine the U.K. and European value investing staff into one value team under Mr. Bateman.
Mr. Bateman will continue to manage the Schroder European Large Cap Equity and ISF European Large Cap funds.
