Westfield (Mass.) Contributory Retirement System is searching for one or more private equity managers to run a total of $10 million to $15 million, according to Raymond Depelteau, chief investment officer of pension fund.
The $160 million defined benefit plan will consider only commingled investment vehicles, with preference to private equity firms that offer funds of funds and/or co-investment opportunities, according to the website of the Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission. Also, the selected firm should have at least one prior fund and experience in managing private equity assets for Massachusetts public funds. The final close for the fund offering must not be before Dec. 31, 2013.

Proposals are due at 4 p.m. EDT June 12. No selection date has been scheduled, Mr. Depelteau said.
The search is being handled internally; no consultant is assisting, Mr. Depelteau said.
