Judd A. Gregg and Kenneth E. Bentsen Jr. and were named CEO and president, respectively, of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, confirmed spokeswoman Katrina Cavalli.
They replace T. Timothy Ryan Jr., who held both titles and left in February to join J.P. Morgan Chase as global head of regulatory strategy and policy; Mr. Bentsen has been acting president and CEO since that time.
Mr. Gregg was a three-term U.S. senator who served from 1993 to 2011, was co-chair of the bipartisan Campaign to Fix the Debt and served on the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility.
Mr. Bentsen was previously executive vice president of public policy and advocacy at SIFMA; Ms. Cavalli says there are no details regarding a replacement yet.
From 1995 to 2003, Mr. Bentsen served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he sat on the House Financial Services Committee, and separately on the House Budget Committee.
