A survey released this week by Aegon examining the retirement readiness among 12,000 individuals in 12 countries across Europe, North America and Asia reveals that overall, only 14% of the combined respondents said they are 'very' or 'extremely' confident they will be able to retire with a lifestyle they consider comfortable. The number in the United States was higher - with 16% saying they are very confident and 5% indicating they are extremely confident. However, 40% of U.S. respondents indicated they are 'not at all' or 'not very' confident they'll be able to retire comfortably when (and if) the time comes to exit the workforce.
