New York State Teachers' Retirement System, Albany, is seeking candidates for two investment officers to assist in evaluating and selecting private equity managers, confirmed John Cardillo, a spokesman for the $95.1 billion pension fund.
Both positions will report to the pension fund's two top private equity executives — Sean Holland, manager of private equity-international, and Gerald Yahoudy, manager of private equity-domestic —and “will be instrumental in conducting diligence on private equity managers,” according to a job posting on the pension fund's website.
In an e-mail, Mr. Cardillo wrote there is no timetable for filling the jobs. He said one is new and the other is a replacement for an employee who left, but he couldn't provide the name.
The new position “is a reflection only of current workloads and a desire to build bench strength,” Mr. Cardillo wrote. “The addition of this position should not be construed as a reflection of plans to make significant changes to our overall private equity portfolio.”
Candidates should mail a formal employment application to: NYSTRS/HR, 10 Corporate Woods Drive, Albany, NY 12211. The employment application is available on the pension fund's website.
