New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, made a $25 million commitment to ICV Partners III, confirmed Eric Sumberg, a spokesman for state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, the sole trustee of the $152.9 billion pension fund.
ICV Partners III is a private equity fund that focuses on middle-market growth companies in the U.S., Mr. Sumberg wrote in an e-mail. The pension fund made the commitment through its Pioneer private equity emerging manager fund, he added.
The New York pension fund invested $20 million in another ICV-managed fund in 2005, Mr. Sumberg wrote.
