Amy McGarrity was named deputy chief investment officer at the $43 billion Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association, Denver, confirmed spokeswoman Katie Kaufmanis.
Ms. McGarrity replaces David Bomberger, who joined workers compensation insurance company Pinnacol Assurance as CIO last year.
Ms. McGarrity will report to CIO Jennifer Paquette.
Ms. McGarrity was previously senior investment officer for Colorado PERA. Before that, she was CIO at Denver Public Schools Retirement System until it was merged with PERA in January 2010. Ms. Kaufmanis said in an e-mail she did not have any details on whether Ms. McGarrity's previous position will be filled.
