Adams County Retirement Plan, Brighton, Colo., hired Pyramis Global Advisors and Janus Capital Group to manage about $8.5 million total in active domestic smidcap equity, confirmed Pamela Mathisen, executive director.
Pyramis will manage $5 million and Janus, about $3.5 million. Funding comes from the termination of an active domestic small-cap core equity strategy managed by Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley for performance. Horace Whitworth, president and co-CEO at TS&W, did not immediately return a telephone call for comment.
Investment consultant Watershed Investment Consultants assisted the $204 million pension plan.
