Somerville (Mass.) Retirement Board is searching for an executive director for the $174 million Somerville Retirement System, according to a job posting on the Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration's website.
The position is new and was recommended in a management report completed for the board in February by the Abrahams Group, a government management consulting firm. The board approved the new position as well as the report's recommendations to create a deputy executive director and administrative assistant positions. The selected executive director will help choose who will fill those positions, according to the posting.
The Edward J. Collins Jr. Center for Public Management at the University of Massachusetts-Boston is assisting in the search.
Current staff includes the executive secretary to the board, systems accountant, head clerk and principal clerk.
