Scott Greenberg joined BlackRock in Hong Kong as a managing director and Asia-Pacific head of global capital markets, a BlackRock spokesman confirmed Thursday.
The position is new.
A BlackRock news release said Mr. Greenberg’s regional global capital markets team will “work with portfolio managers at BlackRock and external partners to create, develop and execute equity and corporate debt investments solely for the benefit of BlackRock clients.” Those investments will include pre-IPOs, equity cornerstones and convertible debt, as well as “event-driven bridge financings and financing requirements associated with special situations.”
Mr. Greenberg will report to Steve Sterling, BlackRock’s head of global capital markets, and Marc Desmidt, the firm’s Asia-Pacific head of alpha strategies. Both are managing directors.
Mr. Greenberg was COO, equity financing products at Morgan Stanley in New York.
Nick Footitt, a Hong Kong-based spokesman for Morgan Stanley, couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
