JANA Partners LLC's Master Fund returned 24.2% in the year ended Dec. 31. The return figure was reported incorrectly in the Face to Face Snapshot on page 22 of the April 1 issue.
The authors of the April 1 Other Views commentary on page 12, “Is the PBGC a better trustee?” — Timothy O'Toole and Michael Khalil — are members of the law firm Miller & Chevalier Chartered, which is representing retired US Airways pilots in a lawsuit (Thomas G. Davis, et al., plaintiffs, vs. PBGC) accusing the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. of unlawfully depriving benefits to the group. Mr. O'Toole is a counsel in that case. The law firm isn't involved in the case mentioned in the commentary.
Moody's Investors Service Inc. will consider additional information when reviewing state and local governments' unfunded pension liabilities. The story — “Public pension funds face scrutiny from accounting updates,” on page 20 of the April 1 issue — said Moody's will “ask for” more information.
Baird Capital, a division of Robert W. Baird & Co., had seven add-on acquisitions in 2012. The name and number were incorrect in the page 13 story, “Largest firms rule the roost,” in the April 1 issue.
