Baltimore City Fire & Police Employees' Retirement System is looking for an executive director to replace Thomas Taneyhill, who is retiring June 1.
The $2.3 billion pension fund offers a defined benefit plan plus a hybrid plan for newly hired firefighters and police officers.
As of June 30, the pension fund was 77.6% funded, with an unfunded liability of $712.8 million, according to its 2012 annual report.
The executive director manages 30 staff members and a $4 million budget. Successful candidates must be Baltimore residents within six months of appointment.
The search is being handled by executive search firm Gans, Gans & Associates. Resumes are due by May 1. Executive recruiter Earnest Barefield said in an interview that a deadline has not been set for a selection. For details, contact [email protected].
