San Francisco City & County Employees' Retirement System is searching for an alternatives consultant, confirmed Robert Shaw, interim deputy director of investments.
Incumbent Portfolio Advisors is invited to rebid. It has been alternatives consultant for the $17 billion pension plan for the last 10 years, Mr. Shaw said in a telephone interview. Portfolio Advisors' contract expires June 30.
The pension fund has a 16% allocation to alternatives, which comprises investments in venture capital, buyouts and special situations.
The RFP is available on the plan's website. Proposals are due at 5 p.m. PDT May 3. A hiring decision is expected July 10.
