California Savings Plus Plan, Sacramento, has launched an RFP for three consultants for its $9 billion total 401(k) and 457(b) plans.
Program executives launched the RFP because the contracts for the three incumbent consultants — Mercer, Callan Associates and R.V. Kuhns & Associates — expire Dec. 31, said Patricia McConahay, communications director for the California Department of Human Resources. All three may rebid.
The department is searching for one consulting firm for each of three service categories: plan design and provider search; investment monitoring; and, as needed, general consulting services.
Responses to the RFP are due May 7 at 4 p.m. PDT. Finalist interviews are planned for July 8 and 9. Contracts are scheduled to be awarded on Aug. 9, Ms. McConahay said.
The RFP is located on the state's procurement website at http://www.calhr.ca.gov/Pages/public-notice.aspx#20130405.
