Robert Newman will retire as executive director of the Utah Retirement Systems, Salt Lake City, on Sept. 1, Mr. Newman confirmed in a telephone interview.
Mr. Newman has worked with the $22.5 billion pension fund for 27 years, including the last 14 years as executive director. He does not have specific post-retirement plans at this time, he said.
The board is looking to have a new executive director in place by midsummer, and Mr. Newman will help with the transition. He said the board will work with the human resources department on the search.
