University of Western Ontario, London, is searching for a global small-cap equity manager for its defined contribution plans, confirmed Alexis Fowler, project analyst, procurement services, at the university.
The selected manager will run a 5% allocation in the diversified equity fund, the largest investment option for the DC plans. The 5% allocation represents about C$25 million (US$24.6 million) as of Feb. 28. The two DC plans had a combined C$1.1 billion in assets as of Dec. 31.
Ms. Fowler said the selected firm will be an additional manager to the diversified equity fund. She did not know how the allocations for the nine current managers will be changed and said Martin Belanger, director, investments, was not available to provide further information.
The RFP is available on the university's procurement website. Proposals are due at noon EDT April 22. A hiring decision is expected on June 10.
