Timothy Barrett was named chief investment officer of the $1.6 billion Texas Tech University System, Lubbock, confirmed Michael Horst, assistant vice chancellor and investments manager.
Mr. Barrett, who will join the system on April 15, replaces Gary Ratliff.
Mr. Ratliff joined Watershed Investment Consultants in February as a senior consultant. Mr. Horst has been serving as interim CIO since Mr. Ratliff’s departure.
Mr. Barrett previously was director of pension investments at Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, N.Y. Mr. Barrett could not be immediately reached for comment. Kodak’s U.S. defined benefit plan had $4.8 billion as of Dec. 31, according to its most recent 10-K filing.
Eastman Kodak spokesman Christopher Veronda wrote in an e-mail that Mr. Barrett is being replaced by Thomas Mucha, manager of pension investments.
