Lauriann Kloppenburg resigned from Loomis Sayles as chief strategy officer, effective March 15, confirmed spokeswoman Meg Clough.
Her position was eliminated and she will not be replaced.
“She has told us she will be taking some time off to determine where she would like to focus her energy in the future,” Ms. Clough said in an e-mail. Efforts to reach Ms. Kloppenburg were unsuccessful.
Ms. Kloppenburg also took the lead and was “instrumental in crafting goals” on environmental and social governance investing for the firm, Ms. Clough said. Chris Gootkind, director of credit research, and Kathleen Bochman, director of equity research, along with the rest of the ESG committee, will continue these efforts.
Ms. Kloppenburg was previously chief investment officer of equities at Loomis Sayles.
